Apple has unveiled a groundbreaking new product, the Vision Pro augmented reality headset.
"Vision Pro is a new kind of computer that augments reality by seamlessly blending the real world with the digital... Apple's Vision Pro will change the way we commiserate, interact and enjoy entertainment content," said company CEO Tim Cook.
The device looks like a massive scuba mask with a cord on the side - for connecting an external battery that provides up to two hours of use.
The company says the aluminum body accommodates many different devices -- a high-performance computer, displays, cameras and sensors. A three-dimensional interface has been developed for the Vision Pro, which is controlled by eyes, hands and voice. The headset can be synchronized with any other Apple technology.
The Vision Pro is suggested to be used for watching movies, playing games, communicating and working with all standard apps.
"It's like magic. Because you can see reality clearly while interacting with Vision Pro, you continue to be present (in the real world) and continue to interact with those around you," the presentation says.
The manufacturer promises that with Vision Pro you can type on a virtual keyboard, turn your head to use the Safari browser, turn the other way and the user finds himself on a video call with his friends or colleagues. Watch movies together, share photos, or work on presentations together. Watching a movie provides a 4K screen experience in any room, including an airplane seat, and the built-in camera lets you shoot in 3D, Apple says.
