The object in question is only 20,000 light-years away. It has interested scientists in its unusual behavior, namely "switching on and off. This happens with a certain periodicity. Every 110 hours, the object goes out for 70 hours, and then begins to shine again.
This was the first time scientists had encountered such a phenomenon, which at first led them to think that a new type of star had opened up before them. But later, details emerged that shocked them completely.
Around the star, astronomers noticed a formation that they first mistook for an asteroid belt. But the fact is that it adjoins the outer layer of the star almost exactly. And why it doesn't burn up is a mystery to scientists. After all, according to all known laws of physics, the star, which, by the way, ten times brighter than our Sun, had to destroy every speck of dust around it.
And instead there are five planets quietly circling around it, the age of which scientists have estimated at billions of years. So it is quite possible that there is advanced life on them.
Scientists even have a name for such grandiose astro-engineering projects - "Dyson's Sphere". It is believed that someday humans, too, will extract energy from the Sun with their help. Thanks to the sphere, the Sun will no longer work "in vain" and each ray of light will benefit mankind. However, it is still unclear how exactly people plan to store such a huge amount of energy. Perhaps some planets will be allotted for huge accumulator.
But all the same, the extra strong ring raises more questions. Astronomer Rafael Moreno tried to explain this phenomenon, but as a result it only raised new questions.
He immediately put forward the version that it is an artificial object of unknown material, which is able to absorb huge temperatures. He also suggested that the belt serves as some kind of limiter, controlling the generation of energy. But exactly how it does this, scientists cannot yet explain.
The main question facing scientists is whether the object is artificial or not. The planets around this star may be inhabited by a single civilization, which receives energy through the ring. And if so, their level of development is dozens of times greater than ours. According to Kardashev's table, such a civilization belongs to type 2 out of 6. We, by the way, are not even the first yet.
